Privacy Policy

PageWeight is a free performance analysis tool built by Picqlo. This policy explains what data we handle when you use it.

What we collect

URLs you scan anonymously. When you submit a URL without signing in, it is sent to the Google PageSpeed Insights API for analysis. The result we get back — which includes the URL itself, and the addresses of images and scripts on that page — is stored in our database so that your shareable result link works. We do not link an anonymous scan to your identity, and we do not keep a browsable list of the URLs people have scanned. We keep stored scan results for up to 90 days, except for results linked to a page you have asked us to monitor, which we keep for as long as that monitor stays active.

Shareable result links. Each result is stored under a hash. That hash is generated using a secret key held on our server, so it cannot be worked out from the URL alone — knowing that someone scanned a page is not enough to open their report. Only someone with the link can view it.

Email address (optional, for page monitoring). If you ask us to monitor a page without creating an account, we store your email address along with the URL you asked us to watch, the scores we record for it over time, and an unsubscribe token. We email you to confirm first, and we do not monitor anything or send you alerts unless you click that confirmation link. We use your address only to send alerts for the page you asked about, and you can unsubscribe from any of them.

Account (optional). If you create a PageWeight account, we collect your email address and password to authenticate you, and store the credentials needed to sign you in on later visits. Signing in lets you track multiple URLs under that account — each with a label and check strategy you choose — and see their score history over time; these tracked URLs and their results are linked to your account, unlike anonymous scans. We also store your plan/entitlement status so the dashboard can show your usage limits. Deleting a tracked URL removes it from your account; closing your account removes your stored credentials and tracked URLs. To request account deletion, email contact@pageweight.co.

What we do not collect

  • We do not use tracking cookies or persistent identifiers for anonymous visitors. If you create an account, a persistent sign-in cookie keeps you logged in — see “Account” above
  • We do not collect your name, browser fingerprint, or advertising identifiers

Analytics

pageweight.co uses Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool. It collects aggregated data only: page views, referrer URLs, countries, and device/browser types. It does not set cookies and does not track individual visitors across sessions or sites. No consent banner is required.

Third-party services

Google PageSpeed Insights API. URLs you submit are processed by Google’s servers. Google’s use of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare. This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare may process request metadata (IP addresses, headers) in accordance with the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Hetzner. Scan requests and result data are processed on servers hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in the EU. Hetzner’s privacy policy applies to infrastructure-level data handling.

Email and notifications

If you submit your email address, you can unsubscribe at any time by emailing contact@pageweight.co. We will not sell or share your email address with third parties.

Data retention

Shared result data is stored in our database for up to 90 days, except for results linked to an active monitor, which are kept for as long as that monitor stays active. Email addresses collected for page monitoring are retained until you unsubscribe. Account credentials, email address, and tracked URL history are retained until you close your account (see “Account” above); this is separate from the monitor and anonymous-scan retention described here.
